AutoFlow Admin role center
The AutoFlow Admin role center is a dedicated home page for users whose primary job in Business Central is to design, monitor, and operate AutoFlow. It is shipped as its own profile and is meant for AutoFlow administrators – not as a replacement for the role centers used by the rest of the business.
If you only run AutoFlow occasionally alongside your normal work, you do not need this role center. The AutoFlow action group on the standard role centers (Business Manager, Order Processor, Sales & Relationship Manager, Accountant, Project Manager) already gives you everything you need to open the lists, change setup, and review the license. See Getting started · Where to find AutoFlow in BC for the short version.
Switching to the AutoFlow Admin role
AutoFlow Admin is a regular Business Central profile. To use it:
- In Business Central, choose the Settings (cog) icon, then My Settings.
- In the Role field, pick AutoFlow Admin.
- Choose OK. Business Central reloads with the AutoFlow Admin role center as the home page.
You can switch back at any time the same way. Profile assignments are per user, so different team members can use different role centers in the same company.
What you see on the home page
The AutoFlow Admin role center is laid out for at-a-glance operation. The home page is built from four parts.
Headline
A small banner at the top of the page that surfaces noteworthy events – for example a recent run of failures, a license that is about to expire, or a hint when no flows are configured yet. The headline content rotates as conditions change.
Activity cues
A tile-style summary of the current AutoFlow workload. Typical cues include:
- the number of enabled flows currently active in the company,
- the number of executions in the last 24 hours broken down by status (success, error, in progress),
- counters for failed executions still waiting to be reviewed.
Each cue is clickable and drills into the matching list with the right filter already applied.
Execution chart
A chart that visualises execution volume and outcome over time. Use it to spot regressions ("the error rate jumped on Tuesday") or to confirm a fix took effect.
Last error feedback
A part that shows the most recent error encountered by a flow, with enough context to pick up the investigation directly. From there you can jump into the full execution log entry.
Navigation actions
The role center exposes two action groups in the sections menu.
AutoFlow
The same four actions that appear in the AutoFlow group on the standard role centers, gathered here as the primary navigation:
| Action | Opens | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Flows | AutoFlow Flows list | review, edit, enable, or disable flows |
| Executions | Executions list | inspect runs and their status |
| Setup | AutoFlow Setup | tune company-wide AutoFlow behaviour |
| License / Activation | Subscription management | review packages, activate, or redeem voucher codes |
Admin
A second group with shortcuts that are specific to administration work:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| New Flow | Opens a blank flow card so you can start designing right away. |
| Clean Up Failed Executions | Opens the Executions list pre-filtered to the Error status, so you can review and remove the failed runs in bulk. |
| Export Logs | Opens the execution log list, ready for export or deeper review. |
When to use this role center
Use the AutoFlow Admin role center when:
- you are the person responsible for AutoFlow in your company and want a dashboard rather than a side-menu,
- you spend significant time building, debugging, or operating flows,
- you want activity cues and the execution chart on the home page instead of the standard sales/finance KPIs.
Stick with a standard role center (and rely on the AutoFlow action group) when AutoFlow is just one of many tools you use day-to-day.
